I started suffering from leg cramps a few years ago. They’d mainly occur following exercise and mostly at night. My leg muscles (mainly hamstrings) would tighten up painfully All I could do was suffer through and try to relax while lightly massaging my leg.
Leg cramps are brief episodes of contracting muscles that can range from a mild sensation to a contraction so strong that it causes a knot. Fatigued muscles are more likely to cramp. This is why it’s common to suffer from leg cramps following strenuous exercise. In the midst of it, applying heat, massaging and relaxing are the best remedies. Of course, the best cure is prevention. Applying essential oils can sooth and relax muscles preventing spasms.
Essential Oils Recipe for Leg Cramps
Use roller or just apply by hand
- 20 drops Rosemary
- 20 drops Marjoram
- 10 drops Hyssop
- Carrier Oil
The blend can also relieve join discomfort. Rub on the affected area following a warm bath. To further lessen leg cramp occurrences, drink lots of water and take a magnesium supplement. Young Living’s Super Cal Plus contains both magnesium and calcium and is highly recommended.
